My roommates dad died today. He was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months ago.
Pretty shitty, I am home alone, and looking after Poppy (their dog) who keeps crying out for them. This entire week has sucked.

I've just found out that the granddaughter of my mum's best friend, she's only 14, has cancer.  We all know her pretty well, and she's such a sweet, lively girl.  It's a proper shock for everyone.

Thoughts with them... and you... and well... everyone involved.

So, I'll say it. I hate Steven Moffat's writing. He has great ideas, wonderful builds but terrible execution. He pens this massive, potential filled story and once it's set up it's all resolved in about 10 minutes. Maybe less if you use the drive-thru.

Thanks sweetie  :)

On topic - I'm revising today, and I actually feel good about it.  After getting that news yesterday it kinda put everything into perspective.  I'm lucky to be taking these exams.  I'm lucky to be in a position to have reached this level of education.  I'm extremely lucky that my list of medical conditions aren't worse.  I'm lucky to not be a 14 year old that is missing out on living their life because they're soon going to be in hospital fighting for it.  Instead, I sort of have my health, I have friends and family who all love me, and with the offer for this masters degree I'm getting the opportunity to do something possibly amazing with my life.  If that isn't extremely lucky then I don't know what is.

Oh, and also, along the lines of my revision, if anyone ever tells you that they're into erotophonophilia, I suggest you run as far away as possible.
Please donate to Frank and help raise money for my Samaritans branch!  I need more chocolate biscuits!

Well, it's not only luck, it's also your actions.
Your behavior is important both for your education and your medical conditions.

I have mastered the art of Procrastination, and in doing so have achieved Nirvana. I am no longer concerned with the happenings of the mortal realm, and instead contemplate the deepest mysteries of the universe.

In other news, my exam revision is not going well.

:D : I fixed the ugly yellow headlight on the pretty car! It's not perfect, the new sealant has some small bubbles and some dust particles (i hate living in a windy shithole), but it's 100x better than it was before. Now the OTHER side looks like shit!

For anyone who has ugly faded / yellowed headlights, this is the process that I used, except I went 600-1000-2000 and used a crappy foam brush. I also used Blue Magic metal polish for the buffing step, and it worked beautifully.

In a bit of a rough spot financially and when I called my dad to ask for a loan he refused to let me pay it back and he was surprised I needed "so little."

It's shit like that that makes me feel like I'm not just leeching shit from my parents.

Also a cute girl came into foodlion, complimented my hair, and gave me her name.  WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!

To say that your heartfelt moral judgement of a human being as an inferior form is valid and that another's is not is hypocrisy.

Moore Oklahoma got raped by an EF4-EF5 Tornado (I'm guessing, reports said the base was at least a mile wide. It's most likely an EF4-EF5), 37 people dead so far. I wonder why these people don't have cellars or basements in the South :(

I downloaded iTunes for the first time ever.

I also bought my first MP3.

No I didn't bit torrent my music, I've just never really bothered listening to music or buying/downloading it at all.

Not sure how I feel about caving in and being like everyone else having MP3's and stuff but oh well.
