I love wine, red way more than white. And in the winter, I drink port. Mmmmm... port.

I've had vegan/vegetarians tell me that I could swap steak with a good mushroom. I laugh at them. There's no other response to that.

This is an older opinion than they realize. Mushrooms were recommended as one substitute for meat when rationing for the war effort was a thing ("meatless, wheatless, and sweetless days"). Back when people planted Victory Gardens and the government encouraged backyard hens - two for every person in the house hold, because eggs.

Back to the mushroom thing, turns out they're high in protein. So yeah, they're a good protein substitute.

I'd still rather have the steak. With mushroom gravy. :)

I agree that Black Liquorice and/or Aniseed is disgusting on their own, but fennel seeds with roasted pork is quite tasty. Can't say I've tasted Apple Liquorice honestly.

I prefer to drink a red wine than a white wine but it would depend on what I am eating with the wine. I will happily drink beer, especially if it is free, never really got into rum but I don't mind a nice drop of scotch.

Mushrooms are good, hated them when I was a child but I enjoy them now, same deal with oysters actually.

A hamburger is not a hamburger unless it has both tomato and beetroot on it, pineapple / bacon / egg are all optional extras in my mind BUT it needs to have tomato and beetroot.

I also like pizza with pineapple.

And I eat it with a fork and a knife.

Wine can be soooooooooooooo good. You should come to France and take a trip in Burgundy.

Oh, if we are talking about films, everybody likes at least one 'stinker'.

I absolutely love Street Fighter, as I'm sure I've said before.

We've already boiled communication down to acronyms, emoticons and shrtnd sntnces, all of which are simply more efficient ways of transmitting the PLEASE AUTHENTICATE MY EXISTENCE signal from the fragile core of our souls out into the wider world. Maybe the next stage is to reduce it all down to a single noise. I'd favour a short, electronic beep, not unlike the noise emitted each time Pac-Man eats a dot.

As it is about beverages and movies now:

Coffee tastes like ass and so does mate tea but that one doesn't even have the smell going for it.

I enjoyed Adam Sandler's Pixels.

Beer, wine, Scotch, bourbon, whiskey, brandy, port its all ass. Though I have found a cider that is quite nice, and flavoured Cruisers :P

Summer over winter, I can handle the heat much easier than cold.

The orange Pixel's trying to peddle his bourbon as whiskey and mine was the straw?  ;D

The movie Pixels had some nice music and Josh Gad's character. ("JFK shot first!")

Let's see if I can hit the main topics...

Food: Ketchup and american cheese make a delicious sandwich.

Beverages: Beer is okay, but apple ale with a shot of cinnamon whiskey is best.

Movies: I really enjoyed I, Robot. Even having read the book.

Now for something gaming: Friday the 13th on NES is fun, once you get used to how the map works.

From now on, any time I say it's one of "those" weeks, your week will be what I mean. You need a vacation right the fuck yesterday.

So... gratz to Dorkdragon for setting a new bar for one of "those" weeks.   Not an enviable honor in the least, but there it is. :(

I watched that recently with some friends. I would say that Bison really carried that movie. Obviously Van Damme was supposed to be the star but I found Bison to be a far more interesting character. I think he was played really well.

Please note that any statement I make automatically acknowledges exceptions, not all X are Y.

Please assume that I agree with you that not all X are Y.

Thank you.

Politicians are under-appreciated.  Seriously, who wants to do a job where no matter what happens it's guaranteed at least half the people will hate your guts.  But yes they are massively overpaid.

No name corn chips are better than Doritos.

Firefly was only okay.

Bruce Campbell is overrated.  (Okay, that one was a joke)

Made me realize another one I have:

Quentin Tarantino is absolutely over-rated to the point of ridiculousness. It's like everyone knows he's a talentless shock-hack but nobody has the balls to come out and say it because everyone else seems to think he's so talented and they don't want to seem like the odd one out.
